In San Stino di Livenza, province of Venice, we realized an extension of about eighty square meters of a residential villa. The extension consisted in a new kitchen, a pantry and an outdoor pool.
The owner Marco C. illustrates the job:
“It was surprising to note that the final result was exactly the same as the futuristic rendering. HMID succeeded in combining our constructive needs, enhancing our thoughts with its creative taste and giving life to a new structure by combining it to the existing one, three rooms have been added plus an outdoor pool. My wife Laura and myself having two small children, we don’t feel we should spend time travelling from one place to another by car. We consider the family the most important thing and therefore the house a safe island where we return from the races of life. The kitchen of the house is its living heart. We want to grow our children in harmony, therefore we tried to make it become a welcoming hospitable place that we can share as a family or with relatives, neighbors and friends. The intervention was challenging, we admit it, firstly because you cannot have the quality without being willing to appreciate it and then you also pay for it. But this gave ourselves the opportunity to experience a renewed environment with exclusive beauty that makes us feel at ease and reflects our conception of life, where sharing emotion and remaining oneself are the primary values. For the maintenance of the swimming pool I gave responsibility to my eldest son Lorenzo, this will make him grow. The kitchen instead has become a meeting point of the neighborhood, where we share good relationships and makes life pleasant. I am very happy with the enlargement and I thank HMID for the ability to listen and implement. From this point of view we found a very valid interlocutor, able to make our dreams come true. Beautiful and shared things enhance the existing, as much as the generosity and wide points of view.”
The extension in minimalist style has been implemented with a geometric parallelepipedal shape in adherence to the existing twenty-year old classic residential style house. To reduce the chromatic changes it was repainted in white.
The intervention was isolated with an outer coat, supported by columns in reinforced concrete to cover a linear roof, where a solarium was built to connect to the house.
It was thought as a suspended volume of almost sixty centimeters on the level of the pool edge and on the surrounding floor where a grassy garden starts. Three white steps in chromed steel connect the difference in height. From the large 2.7 times 3 meter kitchen window, supported by an Ipe steel truss, you have a beautiful view of the pool, allowing you to enjoy every moment of the seasonal peculiarities also through the mirror of water, limpid and bright in the hot periods, opaque and veiled by some fallen leaves, in the cold season. Since the window faces north, it does not undergo hourly variations in solar brightness, clouds permitting.
The floors made of resin and the sanitary surfaces in Corian, as well as the large island where you can enjoy meals are illuminated by our lamp Linea. The integrated sink is flanked by the Elica induction hob, by Tesla, with system suction of the central fan that guarantees very high performance in terms of fume extraction and is noiseless. This gives the environment a great livability and a warm welcoming sensation. The harmony you can experience between the inside and the outside with the sunlight or the Linea lamp, between the window and the clear mirror of the pool, become harmonious elements of a single project in which man is the fulcrum, in the maximum respect of his own forces and of the ones of nature.
The renovation of the kitchen of “Villa Candussio” arises from the need to update the concept of kitchen according to today’s declination, where the kitchen becomes the central housing fulcrum. After a new functional layout, a k-proof stone table was installed, a hybrid working space and dining table, providing an illumination capable of maintaining the natural and artificial photodynamic […]
The restoration intervention for didactic-informative purposes with multisensory paths on the building “Molino di Mezzo” allowed HMID to fully express its vocation. This restoration was promoted by the municipal administration of Spilimbergo, the Ecomuseum of the Friulan Dolomites Lis Aganis and the High School Tagliamento. The mill with three millstones started in 1391, by means of the stream […]
The renovation concerned an apartment located in the historical center of Udine, which was built towards the end of the fifties and was never renovated. The planimetric situation was characterized by thick and clear divisions of the spaces, which made each room rather narrow. In order to create a living and an open space, which was also strongly desired by the client, all the walls separating the […]
